Recommended Attractions in Thailand. A Favorite Among Tourists!

Thailand is often a travel destination for those who want a short getaway. It offers various interesting tourist attractions that can be visited in just a few short days. It is perfect for those who want to travel during a long weekend.

Besides its attractions, Thailand is also famous for its cuisine, which is absolutely delicious, and its shopping paradise. It is not surprising that many Indonesians choose it as a vacation spot. One of their most favorite cities to visit is Bangkok.

So, if you have limited vacation time, you can still explore Thailand—especially Bangkok—with this 3-day itinerary:

Day 1

Lunch at Wattana Panich

If you depart in the morning and arrive in Bangkok in the afternoon, you can first have lunch at Wattana Panich. Did you know that this restaurant is always crowded with customers? This is because the restaurant serves delicious beef noodle soup. The secret to its deliciousness lies in the broth, which has been simmering for 45 years.

Instead of discarding the old broth, the restaurant owner filters and stores it for use the next day. Then, fresh ingredients are added, strengthening the broth’s flavor. This cooking method is known as “perpetual stew”. The restaurant’s address is 336 338 Ekkamai Road, Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok. The price? 100 baht per bowl.

Visiting the Grand Palace

After lunch, you can visit the Grand Palace—the King of Thailand’s palace, which has magnificent structures and is located in the center of Bangkok City. Besides admiring the palace’s grandeur, you can also see the royal family’s residence, the king’s collection museum, and government buildings.

Not only that, you can also find the most sacred temple in Thailand, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha or Wat Phra Kaew, nearby. Since it is located in the same area as the royal residence and temple, do wear appropriate clothing when visiting. The Grand Palace is normally open from 08:30 AM – 03:30 PM, with an entrance fee of 500 baht.

Dinner at Tom Yam Paa Nga

At night, you can dine at Tom Yam Paa Nga located at ซอย กําจาย เอี่ยมสุรีย์ Khwaeng Suriya Wong, Khet Bang Rak, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10500, Bangkok, Thailand. This place serves a halal version of Tom Yam Soup, which makes it a favorite among Indonesians.

Not only are the owners friendly and love to take selfies with their customers, but the Tom Yam Soup there is also filled with lots of ingredients such as vegetables and seafood. The portions are large with a very authentic taste. The price? Starting from 100 baht and it is open daily from 07:00 PM – 08:00 PM.

Day 2

Breakfast at Farida Fatornee

On the second day, you can have breakfast at Farida Fatornee, a halal restaurant. The interesting part is that this eatery is named after its owner, who is a Muslim. So, Farida herself guarantees that all the food on her restaurant’s menu is halal.

The taste? Delicious. Even important government people love to eat at this place. It is also strategically located, just a short distance from the Madame Tussaud Museum. If you come here, you can visit the museum right after breakfast. If you do not want a full meal, you can order Mango Sticky Rice. The restaurant’s prices range from 50 - 80 baht.

Day 3

Enjoying the Beauty of Wat Arun Temple

If your flight back to Indonesia is in the afternoon, take time to enjoy the beauty of Wat Arun Temple—a tower with Khmer-style architecture combined with vibrant colors of Chinese porcelain. The tower is famous for its stunning view, especially when seen at sunset.

What is more exciting is that there are stairs on one side of the tower that directly offer a view of the Chao Phraya River. If you visit Thailand, do not miss the sight of grandeur this temple offers. It is located at 158 Thanon Wang Doem, Khwaeng Wat Arun, Khet Bangkok Yai, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10600, Thailand.

Culinary Delights at Ratchadamri

If you still have time before heading to the airport, it is worth stopping by Ratchadamri. Ratchadamri is a culinary spot that offers halal foods such as roti canai, satay, fried chicken, fried rice, and many more.

No need to worry, there are plenty of transportation options to take you around when vacationing in Bangkok.
