“Wouldn’t it be exciting to spend family time vacationing in Japan?”
Are you planning a trip to Japan with your beloved family? Well, summer can be the perfect season to go there. Besides being able to visit all the popular tourist attractions, you can also experience the festivals Japan celebrates in the summer, such as the Hanabi Festival (Fireworks Festival).
Or, if you want to take the kids with you, consider bringing them to the following tourist destinations:
As the name suggests, Nara Park is one of the largest parks in Japan. It is surrounded by temples, such as Tamukeyama Hachimangu Shrine, Kasuga-Taisha Shrine, and Todaiji Temple. The main attraction of the park is its deer. Around 1,000 deer roam freely in this park, and interestingly, those deer are not afraid to interact with visitors.
According to Info Jepang, locals believe that the deer in Nara Park are descended from the deer brought by Takemikazuchi-no-Mikoto (the god of Kasuga-Taisha Shrine), who came to Nara riding on it. Not only did he come, but the god also settled in Nara City, which is why the deer there are considered sacred animals. As a form of respect for the god, locals always feed the deer.
Apart from seeing deer, you can do several fun activities in this park, such as feeding the deer with grass or vegetables, enjoying the beautiful sceneries at the park, and taking photos with the deer. If you want to go there, you can depart from either Kyoto, Osaka, or Tokyo. From Kyoto, you can go to Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Rapid Line or Miyakoji Line to Nara Station.
