What is Thrifting?
According to Custom Strade Academy, thrifting means buying used goods that are still usable. The word thrifting comes from “thrift”, which means “frugality”. Although most of the items are second-hand, their quality is still good. Some are even in excellent condition.
In Indonesia, thrifting is often referred to as “awul-awul” and has been around for a long time. What are the benefits of thrifting? You can buy things at a low price, have the opportunity to get various models and colors, and shop while participating in environmental conservation.
Some items commonly sold in thrift stores include household tools, jewelry, books, shoes, watches, bags, clothes, and more. Recently, thrifting has become popular again as selling things online is getting easier. Many sell their quality second-hand items through online marketplaces.
